Thanksgiving is almost upon us, although it’s hard to believe given the summery weather we’ve had here in Colorado. While it’s been lovely, I’m ready for fall and the annual reminder of all the things we have to be grateful for. Here at ECS, the list is long.
I am incredibly thankful for all of our clients and experts who make every single day interesting and unique. There are a million things that I love about my job, but the opportunity to learn something new literally every single day may be my favorite. Because of lawyers who bring us fascinating cases, and experts who provide seemingly limitless knowledge on every imaginable topic, my world continues to expand. This work is a remarkable way to use my legal education and experience. It is not what I would have predicted on my first day of law school, or during my first case as a litigator, but I couldn’t be more appreciative of the path that brought me here.
I am equally grateful for the chance to connect all these brilliant people by playing legal matchmaker. It is a stimulating intellectual exercise, but much more importantly, it is meaningful work. Because of the ECS network, more people have better access to the information that can make or break their cases. This isn’t about helping our clients win, although we certainly enjoy that too. I see our work as connecting the right people, to the right expertise, at the right time – and that can make a huge impact on individuals’ lives.
Finally, this Thanksgiving I want to give extra thanks to everyone in the ECS network for making it a success. From our clients to our experts, our partners to our employees, we are truly a family business in every sense of the word. Every member of that family has helped make this a wonderful year. As we sit down to turkey on Thursday, I will be giving thanks for all of you.
